Kartik swami is referred to lord kartikey, son of lord Shiva. Kartikey ji is the well known as the God of bravery, Kartik ji was the elder son of lord shiva, Kartik swami temple is the only temple of lord kartikay situated in north india, The temple of kartik swami is situated at an height of 3050mtr above sea level, one can enjoy the beautiful path towards the holi temple. The path is full of lush green forests. One has to pass a ridge of Himalayas to reach the beautiful kartik swami temple.

To reach kartik swami one has to trekk of 3km from kanakchauri( last station of motor), kanakchauri is situated at a distance of 30kms from Rudraprayag. And Rudraprayag is situated at distance of 141kms from rishikesh on NH58, the total distance of kartik swami from rishikesh is 171km+3km trekk.
- Rishikesh railway station is the last railway station to kartik swami.
